MUSIC IN THE TALMUD

Music in the Talmud explores the meaning and role of music within Jewish texts, prayer, and everyday life. The program weaves together passages from the Tanakh and the Talmud with Yiddish folk songs, traditional melodies, and poems by modern and contemporary Yiddish women writers. Each selection highlights the central place of music and singing in Jewish culture, underscoring its enduring power as a thread that binds Jewish life across generations.
